“JFA+FAS Uniqlo Football Kids” is an event that aims at the development of football in Asia and the international contribution through football by spreading out the event programmes’ knowhow of the *JFA Uniqlo Soccer Kids that launched in 2003 to Asian football associations.
*The JFA Uniqlo Soccer Kids is a series of fun football festival events that have been held throughout Japan and where any preschool kids aged six or younger can take part.

The Japan Football Association (JFA) and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) concluded a partnership agreement in April, 2011. The JFA has deepened the relationship with the FAS through dispatching coaches and referee instructors. In the past, the JFA sent off coaches for Singapore National U-16 and U-14 team. This event was also held as a part of the partnership between the JFA and the FAS.

At the event held on Sunday 12 October at Jalan Besar Stadium, a total of 124 participants, 85 Singaporean and 39 Japanese gathered. The sponsor Uniqlo’s Group Executive Vice President Otoma Naoki, FAS General Secretary Winston Lee and JFA Chairman Daini Kuniya visited and gave speeches that created global taste for the event as they were spoken both in English and Japanese.

Participants divided into four groups played 8-a-side games and enjoyed football with less focus on winning or losing as they worked out together with smiles along with special guests, Timor-Leste National U-19 and U-21 Team head coach Koga Takuma and S.League’s Young Lions players.
In the closing ceremony, Mr. Otoma provided a warm message and gifts to all participating children.
